Caseworker

St. Catherineís Center for Children is a leading not-for-profit human service agency offering a broad array of human service programs in Albany, NY, and the surrounding counties.  We have immediate openings for part time or on-call caseworkers in our Community Based Services programs.   Positions are available in Albany, Columbia, Saratoga and Rensselaer counties.

 This position provides concrete outreach and advocacy services to developmentally disabled parents,  mental health clients and/or their children; provides supportive case management, mentoring and guidance to children; assists parents/children in developing their social support system, provides direct respite services to children and families enrolled in the various respite programs, responsible for required documentation.

Requirements include: BA in Human Services or Social Work and a minimum of 2 years related experience, clean and valid NYS driverís license, ability to work with developmentally disabled and/or mental health clients, the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate client schedules; and the ability to relate to a culturally diverse population.  EOE

Child Care Specialist

We have immediate openings for Child Care Specialists, which are on-call positions at our Group Homes. St. Catherineís Center for Children is looking for bright, creative, energetic employees to work with children with special needs in a residential setting.  We offer a competitive hourly rate. Requirements include HS diploma/GED equivalent, clean and valid NYS Driverís License for at least one year. Location: Residential Departments in Albany.  The Child Care Specialist is needed for all shifts, weekends, and overnights. EOE

Critical Care Aide

Works one on one in the school with children who have emotional disabilities. The school is a Day Treatment program for children ages 5 Ė 13. The work week is from Monday through Friday.  Requirements include HS diploma/GED equivalent and prior experience with similar population.   EOE

Overnight Maintenance/Resident Assistant-Temp

Needed for our homeless shelter. The position is a temporary position which could become permanent. The duties of the position are: to perform tasks necessary to maintain the physical appearance and functioning of the building and property; serve to ensure a safe, secure, healthy, clean and positive environment for families residing in facility; and maintain respect, support, care, and a family atmosphere for residents of the facility and fellow staff members.

Requirements are: HS diploma or GED equivalent, a valid NYS Driver License and the ability to meet agency driving criteria. Needs to be physically capable of performing heavy work.  EOE

Resident Assistant Full-Time

The Resident Assistant assists families as they make their transition from homelessness through after care.  The Resident Assistant needs to maintain respect, support, care, and a family atmosphere for residents of the facility and fellow staff members. Also, professional boundaries need to be maintained. Ability to work as a team member is required.

Respite Worker/Skill Builder - Part Time

The position provides respite and skill building to children in the Albany and Rensselaer County communities with emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental disabilities.  Responsibilities include weekly outings that promote and strengthen social skills, and required documentation.

Requirements include: Associate's degree; a clean and valid NYS Driver's License; ability to work with developmentally disabled and/or mental health clients; the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate client schedules; and the ability to relate to a culturally diverse population.  Experience with similar population required. Supervisor of Social Work

The Supervisor of Social Work is responsible for the development and delivery of social work services in the Campus Services Residence and R&E May School Day Treatment Programs and supervises the social workers who serve both programs.  The Supervisor manages the development and implementation of assessment and treatment planning for each child and family served by the Residence and Day Treatment Programs, under the leadership and supervision of the Campus Services Assistant Director for Clinical Services.

Duties/Responsibilities:

                      Assists the Campus Services Assistant Director for Clinical Services in ensuring that the social work services are provided according to the regulations of the NYS Education Department, the NYS Office of Mental Health, the NYS Office of Child and Family Services, and according to the policies and philosophy of Saint Catherineís Center for Children

                      Supervises the Campus Services social workers and all social work activities in the Residence and R&E May School Day Treatment programs through individual and group supervision

                      Provides consultation and technical assistance to social workers in diagnosis, treatment planning and ongoing delivery of services.

                      Oversees assignment and delivery of individual, group and family treatment services and case management services

 

Requirements: Masterís Degree in Social Work; NYS LCSW licensure (proof of pending application for NYS LCSW will be considered); three years of experience in residential  and/or special education setting, with supervisory and/or program management experience preferred; clean and valid New York State Driverís License.  EOE
