Child Care Specialist

We have immediate openings for Child Care Specialists, which are on-call positions at our Group Homes. St. Catherine’s Center for Children is looking for bright, creative, energetic employees to work with children with special needs in a residential setting.  We offer a competitive hourly rate. Requirements include HS diploma/GED equivalent, clean and valid NYS Driver’s License for at least one year. Location: Residential Departments in Albany.  The Child Care Specialist is needed for all shifts, weekends, and overnights. EOE

Floating Master Teacher

A Floating Master Teacher is needed for children ages 5-13 who are emotionally disturbed and developmentally disabled. The Floating Master Teacher supervises the classroom teams as needed. The Floating Master Teacher leads and coordinates the work of classroom staff on a daily basis.

Requirements: Master of Science degree in Special Education preferred. Master of Science degree in related educational area of study will be considered. Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education or related area of study will be considered if applicant is currently pursuing Master’s degree in Special Education or related educational area of study.  New York State Certification in Special Education, Literacy, or Student with Disabilities required. IT Support Position

St Catherine's Center for Children has an opening for a tech support specialist. This position is the first line of support for timely resolution of hardware issues throughout the agency.  This includes, but is not limited to: install, remove, repair computer equipment and any peripherals; new user PC set up; assist staff with and train staff on proper and efficient use of hardware. Software support and some network administration required in various programs.

Requirements include: Experience with computer related hardware, software, and general Networking (wired, wireless and mobile), MS Windows 7, 8 and Mac iOS. MS Office 2007 and 2010.  Credentials: A+, and Net+ (Comptia).  HS/ GED required with two years of verified related experience.  A two year degree in computer science preferred.   A strong work ethic, troubleshooting and research skills a must.

Maintenance Worker (Temp to Permanent)

Needed to perform major repairs and/or renovations; engage in overall maintenance activities to the inside and outside of agency facilities; operate power tools and equipment; ability to lead others. Requirements: HS Diploma or equivalent preferred; clean and valid NYS Driver’s License; ability to lift and carry 70 lbs; ability to climb ladders and stairs; minimum of 3 years experience in carpentry, experience in plumbing and electrical helpful; knowledge in use and care of all tools and equipment used in performing duties.  Duration: The position is temporary – the duration of the position is approximately 3-4 months. At which time a decision will be made as to whether or not the person will be hired on a permanent full time basis. EOE

Quality Assurance Assistant

The Quality Assurance Assistant is responsible for various aspects of the Quality Assurance Program, some of which include: the collection and collation of data, the audit of records that address regulatory and compliance issues, the inspection of agency properties, and the audits of billing records in various Medicaid funded programs. The QA Assistant collaborates with staff across all agency programs to ensure quality environments and adherence to regulations. The Quality Assurance Assistant reports to the Deputy Executive Director for Continuous Quality Improvement and Strategic Planning.

Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree, strong organization and planning skills and experience in various computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point, and the Internet.  Experience and familiarity with the Medicaid program is preferred. EOE

Respite Caseworker - Part Time or On-Call

We’re growing again!  St Catherine’s Center for Children has an immediate opening for a part time or on-call caseworker in its Community Based Services program. This position provides concrete outreach and advocacy services to developmentally disabled parents, mental health clients and/or their children: provides supportive case management, mentoring and guidance to children; assists parents/children in developing their social support system, provides direct respite services to children and families enrolled in the various respite programs, responsible for required documentation.

Requirements include: BA in Human Services or Social Work, a minimum of 2 years related experience, clean and valid NYS driver’s license, ability to work with developmentally disabled and/or mental health clients, the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate client schedules; and the ability to relate to a culturally diverse population.  EOE

Respite Worker/Skill Builder - Part Time

The position provides respite and skill building to children in the Albany and Rensselaer County communities with emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental disabilities.  Responsibilities include weekly outings that promote and strengthen social skills, and required documentation.

Requirements include: Associate's degree; a clean and valid NYS Driver's License; ability to work with developmentally disabled and/or mental health clients; the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate client schedules; and the ability to relate to a culturally diverse population.  Experience with similar population required. Teacher Assistant

The Teacher Assistant works with the Master Teacher to develop and implement classroom educational programs in a Day Treatment program. The children are from 5 years old to 13 years old, and have learning, behavioral, social, and emotional difficulties. The Teacher Assistant directs the students throughout the day, managing the classroom and providing crisis intervention as needed. Required: GED/High School Diploma. AAS or BA degree in human services field preferred. NYS Certificate MUST be attached to resume or application.

We are offering a $500 sign on bonus eligible to be paid if you are hired and remain an employee through June 30, 2014. Positive performance evaluation conditions apply. EOE

Therapist

We currently have an opening for a part time/ per diem sexual trauma therapist.

The sexual trauma therapist provides psychosexual trauma assessments to youth/adults with a suspected sexual trauma history or with a known sexual trauma history.  Further, the sexual trauma therapist provides ongoing individual therapy, family therapy, and/or group therapy to youth/adults with a sexual trauma history. 

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children/adults with a sexual trauma history and have knowledge and experience using Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.  Additional training in sexual trauma treatment is required.  Certification as a Sexual Assault Counselor through the NYS Department of Health is preferred. 

Requirements Include: NYS LMSW or LMHC licensure with 3-5 years of clinical experience working with individuals with a sexual trauma history. Ability to work flexible hours and some travel may be necessary. EOE

Training Specialist

The Training Department of St. Catherine’s Center for Children seeks a bright, energetic, well organized individual with training experience for the position of full time Training Specialist. The Training Specialist provides classroom style training, and organizes, schedules, and conducts required TCI, Med Administration and CPR/First Aid certification trainings for agency staff.  S/he coordinates/oversees/facilitates completion of all required on-line trainings for new employees and updates/refreshers for existing employees, as necessary to meet programs’ compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrate, assess and constructively critique all TCI, CPR/First Aid, Med Administration course skills, strategies and techniques as well as above average computer skills in the areas of data entry and tracking, video editing, uploading training materials and basic Microsoft excel.

Required: Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  EOE
