The
values that guide our work at St. Catherine's stem from the
Judeo-Christian tradition. These include:
-
An
abiding respect for all life.
-
A
commitment to enhance the quality of life.
-
An
appreciation of the individuality of each person and an
acceptance that each will approach life's challenges in an
unique way.
-
A
belief that God is present to us in the events, circumstances
and experiences in our lives.
-
A
belief that individuals have the potential to be
self-determining and motivated to grow.
-
A
realization that we are mutually interdependent and that as we
relate with others we assume the role of teacher and learner.
From
the philosophy, the following major statements are derived:
-
The
most valuable asset St. Catherine's has are those
resourceful persons who join together to meet the needs of the
agency's clients. In respecting each other, we extend our
shared visions, understandings, and experiences, talents, and
gifts.
-
There
is an abiding respect for all life which leads to an
acceptance of all persons without regard to race, creed,
color, sex, national origin, or disability.
-
St.
Catherine's is family centered. All family members are
equally valued and every effort is made to provide services
to the family and to its individual members.
-
Program
services are directed toward both the prevention of personal
and family dysfunction and to the provision of treatment and
remedial services when needed.
