Annual Casino Royale Fundraiser to Benefit Child and Family Services, Homeless Services & More
ALBANY, N.Y. – St. Catherine’s Center for Children – a leading, regional human services agency – has announced the return of its annual Casino Royale fundraiser, a Capital Region favorite. The casino-themed event will be held on Thursday, May 28 at Franklin Plaza in Troy. All proceeds from the event will benefit St. Catherine’s programs which serve children, families, and adults in need in more than 30 counties.
Similar to previous years, the event will have table games for casino-enthusiasts, including Blackjack, Roulette, and Craps; plenty of silent auction items; a “Wine Pull” at which guests can take a chance to win bottles of wine valued from $20 to $100, and delicious food throughout the night.
“Our annual spring fundraiser is a Capital Region favorite and promises a good time,” said Kevin Doherty, executive director of St. Catherine’s. “The atmosphere comes alive with excitement. There are table games, a photo booth, and a ceremony to celebrate the individuals and organizations that go above and beyond for St. Catherine’s. Most importantly, all proceeds go directly back into the community, allowing us to continue meeting the growing needs of those we serve.”
The honorees of this year’s event are Broadview Federal Credit Union; Gerald and Marianne Gordon; Ruth Sano; and Alex Tronco of Northwestern Mutual, and his wife Gina, an author and host of Dancing with the Capital Region Stars. Each of these honorees represents incredible leadership and generosity in our community, and have made a profound impact on those served by the agency throughout its programs and services.
“We’re beyond excited to be hosting this fundraiser again,” said Michele Puleo O’Hare, executive director of the Foundation of St. Catherine’s. “People have a great time, and it’s a powerful way to support the crucial work St. Catherine’s does in the community.”
Celebrating its 140th anniversary, St. Catherine’s Center for Children has been a beacon of hope for children, families, and individuals across New York State. Today the agency serves 37 counties and 54 school districts through community outreach, educational services, foster and kinship care, family support services, homeless and housing services, prevention programs, and a residential program. Proceeds from Casino Royale help support these life-changing programs.
Event sponsorship packages are still available and can be purchased, along with individual event tickets and grand prize drawing tickets, at: www.st-cath.org/casino-royale/. Gaming is for entertainment purposes only. No cash prizes will be awarded, and chips have no monetary value. For questions call Michele Puleo O’Hare at (518) 817-6804.
The willingness of St. Catherine’s Center for Children to embrace change and develop new services is, and will remain, our guiding philosophy as we support human service needs, throughout the region, by providing a comprehensive range of services designed to offer hope, foster growth and improve the lives of the children, families and adults we serve.
