Accreditation

St. Catherine’s is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) of Services for Families and Children, Inc.  COA is an independent, nonprofit, child- and family-service and behavioral healthcare accrediting organization. COA was founded in 1977 by the Child Welfare League of America and Family Service America (now the Alliance for Children and Families). Originally an accrediting body for family and children’s agencies, COA currently accredits more than 125 types of programs in 50 different service areas.

In addition to standards for private social service and behavioral health care organizations, COA has developed separate accreditation programs for public and private agencies in fields ranging from military family readiness programs and international adoption programs to early childhood education, after school, and youth development programs.

COA accredits or is in the process of accrediting more than 2,000 private and public organizations or programs that serve more than 7 million individuals and families worldwide. The accreditation process is designed to meet the needs of diverse organizations: voluntary, public and proprietary, local and statewide, large and small.
